Who the A30i is built for
Most budget earbuds use a stem or a chunky body that can press on the ear. The A30i uses a compact, rounded shell that sits almost flush. That makes it a strong choice for women, teenagers and anyone who finds standard earbuds uncomfortable after an hour. It is also light enough to forget you are wearing it.
Noise cancelling for the price
Soundcore rates the A30i's ANC at up to 46dB. In plain terms, it noticeably softens traffic, office chatter and fans, and it is rated stronger than the R50i NC's 42dB. It is not as strong as the adaptive Soundcore R60i NC, but for a first ANC earbud it is a clear step up from no ANC at all.
Sound
Sound is bass-forward and fun, as with most Soundcore models, and fully adjustable in the Soundcore app. For podcasts and calls, pick a vocal preset. Our Soundcore App Guide: Best EQ Settings, HearID and Hidden Features explains which presets to try.
Battery: the main compromise
Small shells mean small batteries. Expect around 7 hours per charge and roughly 24 hours with the case. That is fine for commuting and office use, but heavy listeners who go days without charging will prefer the R60i NC's 50-hour total.
